It seems like major league baseball is being taken over by the animal kingdom, as they have been finding their way onto the field with surprising frequency in the last few days.
Last night we had a black cat jump onto the field at the Mets-Marlins game in Florida. Today, a squirrel made its way onto the field in Cleveland and had to be chased off the field.
At Progressive Field today, Indians rookie relief pitcher (and self-proclaimed "Professional Geek") Vinnie Pestano came out of the bullpen to chase a squirrel off the field.
Pestano later was called into the game and gave up a double to deep left field and triple to deep right field (which scored a run) in the top of the ninth inning during today's 8-6 loss to the Detroit Tigers. After today's game, Pestano made this comment on his Twitter account:

"Should have kept that squirrel on the field and given him a glove maybe he could have had a shot at catchin those doubles off the wall"
