New York Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire is known for not being a great defender, but he may have hit a new low during Tuesday night's game against Detroit during one defensive sequence where he completely lost track of the basketball.
It happened during the third quarter as Stoudemire was playing zone defense and Pistons forward Josh Smith had the ball. Smith faked the jump shot and passed to Peyton Siva while Stoudemire turned to look for a rebound on Smith's "shot". As a result, Siva was able to drive to the basket while Stoudemire had his back turned.
It shouldn't be a surprise that the Pistons beat the Knicks 92-86, dropping the Knicks to a 3-7 record to start the season. At this point, you have to start wondering how the Knicks will turn things around.
