Brooklyn Nets forward Paul Pierce hit a clutch jumper in the late stages of the fourth quarter in Saturday's Eastern Conference playoff series opener in Toronto and, not surprisingly, had some things to say about it.
After hitting an outside jumper to give the Nets an 88-81 lead, microphones near the court could pick up Pierce screaming "That's why they got me here! That's why I'm in here!"
As a timeout was taken by the Raptors, Pierce was congratulated by his Nets teammates, and was clearly pumped up as he went on to say "That's what I do. Best in the business [at] what I do. That's what I do."
Pierce had 15 points as the Nets beat the Raptors in Game 1 with a 94-87 victory.
