Well, it was bound to happen. As Ted Williams, the Internet sensation who has the perfect voice for sports radio, made the rounds on his morning talk shows, people wanted to find out more about him. It starts out as a feel-good story, but then the media starts digging. And digging. With the vast resources of media outlets combined with the information available on the Internet, it was inevitable that something would come up to reveal something negative.
The Smoking Gun has just posted a story which reveals that Ted Williams has a criminal rap sheet (and corresponding mug shots) which spans the last 20 years. Charges include theft, robbery, forgery and drug possession. This probably would have came up eventually, as I would assume the Cleveland Cavaliers would have discovered this in their background check of this guy. Looks like it may be tougher to put his past behind him than he would hope.
