St. Pauli Will Play Next Home Soccer Match In Empty Stadium

The players of the German soccer team St. Pauli are not directly responsible for their fans' bad behavior, especially the incident at the end of last Friday's game in Berlin against Schalke.  Unfortunately, the players will be the ones that will be suffering the penalty:
BERLIN -- St. Pauli has been ordered to play its next home match in the Bundesliga in an empty stadium after a fan threw a plastic cup full of beer at a linesman last week.
The German football federation's sport tribunal made the ruling Friday. St. Pauli has until Monday to appeal.
Last Friday's home match against Schalke was abandoned in the 88th minute, with visiting Schalke leading 2-0. Schalke was later awarded the win by that score.
The German federation says St. Pauli was responsible for the incident because the cup was thrown by home fans.

So one jerk spoils the fun for everyone else.  Isn't that the way it always works?  No word yet on whether the other fans who have tickets for the game (and who don't behave like idiots) will get there money back.

I'm actually curious what the game will look like with the empty stadium.  I'm also curious how they plan to enforce this.  If thousands of fans decided to show up at the stadium anyway, how will the security personnel keep them out?
