It seems CNN dropped the ball at some point yesterday when trying to capture the story of New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter getting his 3,000th career hit. That hit happened to be a home run, which may have been on the mind of the CNN employee who puts together the screen captions for the stories and may partially explain the end result:

To clarify for those of you not familiar with baseball history, the record for career home runs is 762, held by Barry Bonds. So this story is just a bit inaccurate. Whoops.
