French golfer Thomas Levet celebrated his home tournament win at this past Sunday's French Open by jumping into a lake. He should have probably checked how deep the lake was before jumping into it, because the leap resulted in a broken shin bone, forcing Levet to withdraw from this weekend's British Open tournament.
You would think that people would learn not to do this after what happened to Stacy Lewis' mom back in April. Carol Lewis broke her leg after she joined Stacy for a victory leap at the Kraft Nabisco LPGA Tournament. Apparently not.
Thanks to Youtube, we have video of Levet's leap into the water hazard at the 18th hole, followed by Levet having trouble walking off afterwards.
Like they always say: it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Since the golfers can't seem to help themselves, it looks like someone will have to institute a ban on this behavior.
