As most everyone knows by now, Washington Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb was traded to the Minnesota Vikings. McNabb has worn the number 5 throughout his entire NFL career, and it would be easy to assume that he would like to wear that number in Minnesota. However, the Minnesota Vikings already have a player that wears the number 5. That would be Chris Kluwe, the punter.
Usually this is not a big deal, as the player already wearing the number comes up with a price for which he is willing to give up the number to the other player. Well, on his Twitter account, Chris Kluwe has named his price:
"So here's the deal. If McNabb comes and wants 5, it's his, BUT he has to promise to mention Tripping Icarus in at least 5 press conferences."
Tripping Icarus is Kluwe's rock band. Your move, McNabb.
UPDATE: McNabb has agreed to Kluwe's terms and they have signed a "contract", so McNabb will wear No. 5 for the Vikings.
If McNabb wants No. 5, he'll be promoting a punter's rock band [Shutdown Corner]
