Yesterday in a Peruvian soccer match, Alianza Atletico's Isreal Kahn caught Cienciano's goalkeeper way out of position and had no one between him and a wide open net. Unfortunately, Kahn's shot went outside the goalpost in what could go down as one of the worst misses in recent memory.
When Kahn got around the opposing goalkeeper, who for some reason went way outside the penalty box, there was no one between him and the goal and no defender was within ten feet of catching him. So what caused Kahn to miss the shot? The world may never know.
And it wouldn't be prudent to write a story about someone with the last name Kahn without making an obligatory Star Trek reference, and given these circumstances, the clip fits perfectly:
