Los Angeles Dodgers left fielder Juan Rivera came off the bench to hit a pinch hit single, which drove in a run, in the bottom of the eighth inning in last night's baseball game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Unfortunately, he found himself back on the bench shortly afterwards due to a baserunning blunder.
With a slow grounder hit between first and second, Phillies second baseman Chase Utley came in to play the grounder. However, Juan Rivera made no attempt to avoid Utley and collided with him, basically running over Utley in the process.
Rivera was called out by interference, and to make matters worse, came up hobbling after the play. Meanwhile, Chase Utley appeared to be fine afterwards.
