Not sure what's going on with soccer players throwing balls around this week. First, we have a player throwing a ball at a referee (before trying to kick him), and now we have a player throwing a ball at an opponent.
On Wednesday, in a Champions League qualifying match in the UK, the Glasgow Rangers' Steven Whittaker throws the ball at a Malmo player who tried to take him down with a slode tackle. Whittaker got a straight red card.
Clearly Whittaker lost his temper, and may well have cost his team more than that. This match ended 1-1, but Malmo won the 2-1 aggregate score, ending the Rangers' qualifying campaign.
Have we forgotten the most basic rule here? You're not supposed to use your hands! (Unless you're a goalkeeper, of course)
