Retired NFL safety Chuck Cecil is beginning a new career as a college football analyst for ESPN. His inexperience showed early on tonight, as he used a poor choice of words when describing the play of an offensive lineman in the first quarter.
Cecil was part of the broadcast team in Philadelphia tonight covering Temple's home game against Villanova at Lincoln Financial Field. When providing analysis of one Villanova pass completion, Cecil complements Villanova quarterback Dustin Thomas for stepping up to avoid the rush, which Thomas had to do because Villanova's right guard got "beat like a stepchild".
