Video: Oakland A's Fan Catches Foul Ball, Knocked Over By Brandon Allen

In Oakland yesterday, a fan in the front row made a barehanded catch of a foul ball...while being hit in the face by first baseman Brandon Allen's glove.

It happened in the top of the eighth inning yesterday, as Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre hit a foul ball on the first base side.  A's first baseman Brandon Allen ran to the edge of the stands to catch the foul ball.  As a fan in the front row reached up with his bare hands to catch the foul ball, Allen reached into the stands to catch the ball with his glove.  In slow motion, you can see Allen's glove push through the fan's arms and hit him in the face as the fan is catching the ball.

The fan was knocked down by Allen's glove, but still managed to catch the ball with his bare hands after getting hit in the face.  Pretty impressive...the A's should consider giving him a tryout.

Note that the fan did not reach over the railing to catch the foul ball, so this was NOT fan interference.
