After scoring on a 14-yard touchdown run, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton celebrated in the end zone by doing the "Deion Dance". Newton's dance was a tribute to former Atlanta Falcons defensive back (and NFL Hall of Famer) Deion Sanders, who was honored at halftime of today's game in Atlanta.
Newton's third-quarter touchdown put the Carolina Panthers ahead 17-14. However, his celebration was premature, as the Falcons scored 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to win the game 31-17.
