Miami Hurricanes defensive tackle Micanor Regis has been suspended for this week's game against Georgia Tech. The suspension is punishment for two cheap shots by Regis during last week's game against the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
In the second quarter of last week's game, Miami's Regis stepped on the hand of UNC running back Giovani Bernard at the end of a play while Bernard was down on the ground. In the third quarter, Regis punched UNC wide receiver Dwight Jones in the crotch after Jones had made a reception and was laying on the bottom of a pile of Hurricane players.
As the video shows (as Brendan Shanahan would say), Miami's suspension of Micanor Regis was certainly warranted.
