In an NHL preseason game last night, Pittsburgh Penguins forward Matt Cooke scored a goal from center ice after a clearance attempt off the boards from Chicago Blackhawks goalie Ray Emery bounced right to him.
It happened in the second period Ray Emery came way out of his own goal to the faceoff circle on the right of his net to clear the puck. Emery found himself way out of position as the puck bounced to center ice where Matt Cooke was able to position himself to take a shot on goal.
Emery had a chance to block the shot with his stick, and Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook got down on his knees in an attempt to back him up. However, Cooke's shot bounced over Emery's stick and over Seabrook's right hip for the goal. The Penguins ended up winning the game 4-2.
