"American Idol" season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina flubbed the first verse of the "Star-Spangled Banner" before Thanksgiving's NFL game in Detroit between the Lions and the Green Bay Packers.
Alaina appeared very nervous as she was introduced to the crowd, and her nerves got the best of her during the first verse. Instead of "at the twilight's last gleaming", Alaina sang "through the twi..." before a really long awkward pause as she realized she had goofed in front of millions of viewers worldwide.
Alaina moved ahead by skipping ahead to "last gleaming" and continuing on with the National Anthem. She finished strong, but unfortunately, Alaina will be remembered for messing up the first verse.
