In minor league hockey action, Dane Byers of the AHL's Springfield Falcons was sent to the penalty box for fighting in the third period of a game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. It was Byers' behavior after the fight, however, which got him tossed from the game.
As Byers was in the penalty box, he threw his stick against the glass. Byers then opened the door to yell at Michael Haley, the Bridgeport player who he had just fought with. Byers then came out of the penalty box to continue yelling, this time at the referee, who then ejected Byers. On the way off the ice, Byers found another stick and slammed it against the tunnel walls, breaking it.
No question about it: Dane Byers definitely needed a time out.
