Minnesota Wild forward Cal Cluttebuck accidentally punched a linesman in the face who was trying to break up a fight between Cluttebuck and Vancouver Canucks center Maxim Lapierre during the third period of last night's NHL game in Minnesota.
As the linesman was trying to break up the fight, Lapierre bent down and tried to pick up Cluttebuck and throw him into the Canucks bench. Cluttebuck did not see Lapierre bend down and clocked the linesman dead in the face. The linesman took the shot and still managed to help keep Cluttebuck from falling into the Canucks bench.
Afterwards, the linesman appeared to be OK. However, he may want to consider wearing a facemask from now on.
