In a recent basketball game in Croatia, a player named Sime Buterin threw a basketball at a referee and punched him in the head after he was called for a technical foul in the game.
It happened in a game between GKK Šibenik and Poličnik. GKK Šibenik's Buterin apparently did not agree with the technical foul call. After throwing the ball at the referee's back, Buterin chased down the referee and punched him in the head. The ref was attended to by Poličnik medical staff.
The word is that Buterin has been given a lifetime ban for this incident, but so far we have not been able to confirm this from an official source.
