Last night, the Baltimore Ravens scored a touchdown with 1:55 left in the game against the San Diego Chargers to cut their lead to 34-14. This was a meaningless touchdown, except for the fact that the over/under for the game was 45 points.
NBC broadcaster Al Michaels was well aware of this (as were the people who gambled on the over/under for the Ravens-Chargers game). Michaels made a subtle reference to the gamblers on the air, while avoiding mentioning the over/under, by calling them "friendly degenerates".
Condolences to those of you who had the under.
