The New York Knicks beat the Boston Celtics 106-104 on Christmas Day at Madison Square Garden. Celtics forward Kevin Garnett missed a last-second shot that would have tied the game.
Knicks guard Bill Walker challenged Garnett's shot and may have gave Garnett some trash talk after the missed shot ended the game. Garnett did not take too kindly to it and responded by grabbing Walker by the throat.
Walker was able to knock away Garnett's choke attempt, and other players and coaches for both teams intervened before the situation escalated.
Wonder if NBA Commissioner David Stern will have to give Garnett some punishment for this incident. The video shows pretty clearly that Garnett tried to choke Walker, so Stern will probably have to do something, even if the game was over. We shall see.
