Last week, Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was caught eating Skittles candies on the sideline after scoring a touchdown. Naturally, this week after Seattle Seahawks Marshawn Lynch scored a fourth quarter touchdown against the St. Louis Rams, Seahawks fans used it as an excuse to throw Skittles onto the field.
Mars, Inc. the company that makes Skittles, seems to love the attention, as they rewarded Lynch with a free 2-year supply and a dispenser for his locker. However, football fans throwing candy around could be a bit dangerous. Fortunately, there were no reports of players getting hurt by the Skittles being thrown onto the field, because that would not be a good thing. Of course, the helmets and padding probably minimize the injury risk for the players.
So who will be the next NFL player to get themselves a promotion deal by eating candy on the sidelines? Rob Gronkowski eating a Snickers? Aaron Rodgers eating a Hershey bar? The possibilities are endless.
