St. Louis Blues defenseman Ian Cole may be looking at a suspension by the NHL for drilling Detroit Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader in the head with his shoulder during the first period of Saturday night's NHL game in Detroit.
Cole received a two minute penalty for an illegal check to the head. Brendan Shanahan will have to determine if this hit is worthy of a suspension.
Abdelkader needed some time to regain his bearings, but stayed in the game and scored a goal in the second period to help the Red Wings win their 12th straight home game as they blanked the Blues 3-0.
