In overtime of Saturday's NHL game in Boston between the Bruins and New York Rangers, Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference was ejected for charging Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh. Ference was skating at full speed and pushed McDonagh straight into the boards behind the Rangers net as McDonagh was trying to control the puck.
Ference was given a charging penalty and a game misconduct. We'll see if a suspension will come in the next few days. McDonagh was very slow in getting up.
The Rangers scored with 3.6 seconds left in overtime to win the game 3-2.
UPDATE: Ference was suspended 3 games by the NHL for this hit.
