Massive ECHL Brawl Between Bakersfield And Ontario Leads To 278 Penalty Minutes (Video)

Chaos broke out Saturday night near the end of a minor league hockey game between the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors and Ontario Reign.

Ontario had a 5-1 lead over Bakersfield late in the third period when Bakersfield's Ian McKenzie laid a hard but clean hit on Ontario's Kevin Estrada, which triggered a full line brawl, including both goaltenders.

Announcers Kevin Bartl and Ryan Holt brought some color to the fight, as one of them went so far as to paraphrase one of Bill Murray's famous lines from Ghostbusters:  "It's hysteria!  Cats and dogs living together!"

After they cleaned up all the equipment from the ice from this fight, a few more fights broke out between Bakersfield and Ontario in the last 1:18 of the game.  In the end, the Condors and Reign racked up 278 penalty minutes.
