The fallout from West Virginia defensive back Darwin Cook's tackling of the Orange Bowl mascot continues.
To quickly recap the saga so far, Darwin Cook punctuated his 99-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the Orange Bowl by tackling "Obie", the Orange Bowl mascot.
After the game, Cook found out the person inside the costume was a girl and was apologetic. However, after Cook and Obie shared a postgame hug, it seemed that the story could be put to rest.
Apparently not. On Tuesday, The Orange Bowl Twitter feed posted this picture of Obie:
The photo shows Obie in front of an ambulance outside the hospital, complete with crutches, bandages, and a missing tooth. Obie also holding a sign saying "Not Cool @D_Cook25", a reference to Cook's Twitter account.
Looks like Obie has plans for a lawsuit. The visual evidence from the video of the incident was indisputable, so Cook better start thinking about a settlement before things get ugly.
