Shaquille O'Neal has had a rough week as an NBA analyst on TNT. First Shaq was caught cursing on TV right before a commercial break, and now Shaq has been exposed for having sub-par math skills.
During Thursday night's Inside the NBA on TNT, the studio crew was discussing Orlando Magic star Dwight Howard setting a regular season record with 39 free throw attempts in a game.
It was pointed out that Shaq actually holds the postseason record for most free throw attempts in a game (39 attempts on 6/6/2000). When the studio crew looked up his stats and found that Shaq was 18-39 for free throws in the game, Shaq's response was "At least it's over 50%".
As we've said before, Shaq is still a "rookie" analyst, but he needs to step up is game. It's hard to say if having that Christmas tree pushed on top of him is connected to these Shaq slip-ups in any way.
