In a soccer match between Burnley FC and Nottingham Forest in the UK, Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez missed a penalty kick so badly that it may be the worst penalty kick miss ever by any player on any level...and that includes the pee-wee divisions.
Rodriguez's penalty kick attempt went wide right...by about 30 feet. The video was taken from far away, but Rodriguez did slip after kicking the ball and appeared to lose his shoe. It would be fair to say that the slip probably caused the horrible penalty kick, since there really is no other explanation.
To Rodriguez's credit, he did rebound from this by scoring a goal later in the match. In fact, Rodriguez scored both of Burnley's goals in the 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, so that probably made it a lot easier for him to laugh at this miss. And thanks to the Internet, fans around the world can laugh at this miss for years to come.
