In a soccer match that took place Saturday in Germany, Werder Bremen's Marko Marin was hit in the back of the left ankle by a plastic cup thrown from the stands by fans of the opposing Hamburg team, causing him to go down in...pain?
(DISCLAIMER: Please do not throw objects at sporting events.)
Throwing objects onto the field is inappropriate behavior and is no laughing matter. Fortunately, Marin was not injured, and we hope that the culprit who threw the cup was ejected from the stadium. Although, you have to wonder why Marin, after being hit in the back of the left ankle with the cup, went down and grabbed his...right knee? Hmm....
Marin scored Werder Bremen's first goal of the game before this incident, and his team came away with a 3-1 victory.
H/T Dirty Tackle.
