The New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers wasted no time getting down to business Monday night, as three Devils and three Rangers fought each other on the opening faceoff, to the delight of the Madison Square Garden fans. Only three seconds ticked off the clock.
Six players were given 5 minute penalties, with New Jersey's Bryce Salvador given a 10 minute misconduct penalty.
This is not unprecedented, as back in February, the Devils and Rangers started fighting in the opening faceoff of that game with only two seconds ticking off the clock.
The Rangers won the game 4-2.
H/T Awful Announcing.
