Tennis legend John McEnroe made a very small cameo appearance on this week's Saturday Night Live in an SNL Digital Short appropriately entitled "Tennis Balls".
(Warning: This sketch is PG-13 level humor, so probably not appropriate for the younger kids).
The sketch revolves around an experiment by the "Science Finders" to determine how the human heart reacts under stress. SNL guest host Jonah Hill stars as a volunteer named "Dean" to illustrate the effect that a "shock to the system" has on the heart. Naturally, the Science Finders decided that the perfect experiment would be to use a machine to fire a tennis ball at 60 miles per hour directly into Hill's groin.
The experiment gets the expected laughs as the shot is replayed over and over. However, things get out of hand when Hill continues to get hit in the groin once the experiment is over, with one of the shots coming from John McEnroe practicing his serve. McEnroe's appearance comes at about 1:44 in the video and lasts less than 5 seconds, so if you blink, you literally could miss it.
