Last November, we brought you the story of Northern Illinois freshman linebacker Jamaal Bass knocking over a Toledo band member by lunging into him with his shoulder as the NIU football team ran onto the field. Both band members were hospitalized with concussions, and Bass was suspended for a game by the team and for an additional two games by the Mid-American conference.
Well, Bass could be in a lot more trouble, as he has now been indicted on a felony assault charge and a misdemeanor assault charge for the incident. The maximum sentence for the felony assault charge is eight years in prison.

However this story ends, Bass is certainly learning his lesson the hard way. This will serve as a valuable lesson for other athletes as well. Let's hope this never happens again.
