Singer botches 'O Canada' before Hurricanes-Sabres game (Video)

Before last night's NHL game in Buffalo between the Sabres and the visiting Carolina Hurricanes, a singer botched the singing of 'O Canada'.

Instead of singing "From far and wide, O Canada, we stand on guard for thee", she sang "O Canada, we stand on guard, we stand on guard for thee". It certainly didn't sound right and it did not go unnoticed by the crowd.

'O Canada' is usually sung before an NHL game when one of the teams is based in Canada. However, since Buffalo is close to the Canadian border, the Sabres extend the courtesy of singing 'O Canada' before all their games as a courtesy for the Canadian fans who attend their home games. Hopefully next time the Sabres will make sure the singer knows the words.

We've seen an endless number of celebrities botch the American National Anthem, but this would seem to be the first time we've picked up someone botch the Canadian National Anthem.
