Tampa Bay Rays infielders Evan Longoria and Reid Brignac collided when trying to catch a foul ball down the third base side of Fenway Park during Friday's game in Boston against the Red Sox.
It happened in the bottom of the first inning on a foul ball hit by Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia. Longoria seemed to be in position to catch it near the stands, but Brignac came over from shortstop to chase it and ran into Longoria. Both players fell into the first row, but neither one came up with the ball.
The play foreshadowed how things were going to go for the Rays that day, as the Rays lost to the Red Sox 12-2.
