Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang showed off more than just his hockey skills in last night's NHL game against the Boston Bruins. In the second period, after being tapped in the shoulder by a high stick from Bruins center Rich Peverley, Letang snapped his head back and went down to his knees, acting as if he had been hit in the face. Even though Letang kept control of the puck and pass it to a Penguins teammate, his performance was good enough to draw a high sticking penalty on Peverley.
Peverley did get some measure of revenge by scoring a goal in the third period. However, the Penguins defeated the Bruins 5-3. Just goes to show that sometimes acting pays off in hockey.
