Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan Ellis took an accidental shot in the groin from a soccer ball kicked by a teammate before Wednesday night's playoff game against the Detroit Red Wings.
The incident was aired on CBC network's Hockey Night In Canada pregame coverage of the Predators-Red Wings game, with Ron MacLean describing it as Ellis getting "ping-ponged in the ding-dong". Classic.
Something tells me Ellis should stick to hockey from now on. Sorry, couldn't resist.
