Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie was ejected from Tuesday night's game against the Tampa Bay Rays for tossing his batting helmet at home plate umpire Bill Miller after a called third strike.
Lawrie tossed the helmet into the ground, but it bounced up and hit Miller in the right hip. No question that Lawrie deserves a suspension.
Blue Jays manager John Farrell was also ejected after he came out to argue the questionable strike call with Miller while trying to restrain Lawrie.
To top it off, Miller was hit by a cup of beer thrown by a fan as he walked off the field after the game was over.
