In MLB action Tuesday from Philadelphia, Houston Astros first baseman Carlos Lee accidentally collided with umpire Hunter Wendelstedt as he chased a ground ball hit down the first base line by Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Jimmy Rollins. Wendelstedt was knocked to the ground, but Lee got an elbow in the eye from Wendelstedt, who was trying to absorb the collision.
The play resulted in a double for Rollins. Wendelstedt got up quickly and was OK, while Lee had to have his eye checked out by a trainer. Lee stayed in the game and went 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Just goes to show you can't mess with the umpires!
