Boston Red Sox outfielder Cody Ross lost the grip on his bat and sent it flying into the stands at Fenway Park during the fifth inning of Friday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles.
Ross swung and missed a pitch from Orioles pitcher Wei-Yin Chen. The bat flew pretty far from home plate (about 100 feet, give or take), but fortunately landed in an aisle without hitting anyone, and a fan was able to grab it as a souvenir. The swing by Ross was his third strike and ended the inning.
