Miami Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton nearly hit cutoff man Logan Morrison with a throw to home plate during Thursday's game at Marlins Park against the San Francisco Giants.
It happened in the top of the seventh inning with one out a runner on second. Giants catcher Buster Posey hit a single to short right field, and first baseman Morrison (aka LoMo) positioned himself as the cutoff man. Stanton threw the ball straight to home plate to prevent the Giants runner from coming around third to score, which LoMo was not expecting. LoMo threw himself on his back to avoid getting nailed with the throw.
Both Stanton and LoMo got a good laugh out of it afterwards. Unfortunately, the Marlins lost to the Giants, 14-7.
