A Tampa Bay Rays fan tumbled backwards over a railing while trying to catch a foul ball during Wednesday night's game in Tampa St. Petersburg, but was able to use his hands to break his fall and land on his feet.
The Rays fan, wearing a David Price jersey, was facing the rows behind him when he watched the ball bounce towards him from about five rows back. The fan leaned back and reached up for the ball, which was over his head, when he fell backwards over the railing, spilling the beer he was holding. Fortunately, he was in the front row of the section and the floor was only about four feet below him, so he stuck out his hands to break his fall and was able to land on his feet.
The fan didn't get the ball after the tumble, but another fan gave him the ball, and he was so grateful that he bought that other fan a beer. Classy move on both sides.
