All three New York Yankees outfielders were completely confused by a defensive substitution by manager Joe Girardi in the bottom of the eighth inning of Saturday's game against the Washington Nationals.
Girardi sent Jayson Nix out to play left field, moved Dewayne Wise from left field to right field, and took right fielder Andruw Jones out of the game. However, it took a while to get the message across as outfielders Wise, Jones and Curtis Granderson became confused as to what moves Girardi wanted to make. After enough finger pointing and hand signals, however, they eventually figured it out.
