Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander threw a 100 mph pitch that shattered Chicago White Sox batter Gordon Beckham's bat in the eighth inning of Friday night's game at Comerica Park.
Not only is it impressive that Verlander was still able to throw that fast so late in the game, but Beckham had checked his swing.
Afterwards, Beckham was left with nothing but the handle of his bat.
