Two worlds collided Thursday in Boston as Liverpool FC visited Fenway Park and met the Red Sox.
Both teams are owned by John W. Henry, and Liverpool has some upcoming preseason soccer matches scheduled in the U.S. Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine and Liverpool coach Brendan Rogers exchanged jerseys in the locker room, and players mingled before the game.
Liverpool stayed to watch Thursday night's game against the Chicago White Sox, but had to leave in the eighth inning with the Red Sox down 1-0. Ironically, Red Sox right fielder Cody Ross hit a 3-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to win the game.
