Blue Jays 2B Kelly Johnson hit in head by bloop single (Video)

Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Kelly Johnson misplayed a blooper by New York Yankees batter Russell Margin during Friday night's MLB game at the Rogers Centre, resulting in a blooper of his own as the baseball bounced off his head for a single.

It happened in the top of the eighth inning with a Yankees runner on first and two outs. Johnson appeared to get himself into position to catch Martin's blooper to shallow center field, but he didn't get his glove high enough. The ball bounced off Johnson's head and into left field.

Yankees runner Jason Nix advanced to third, and Martin advanced to second as the ball was thrown back into the infield, although he was only credited for a single on the play.

The next Yankees batter, Ichiro Suzuki, singled to center field, allowing Nix and Martin to score, allowing the Yankees to extend their lead on the way to a 10-2 victory.
