In Saturday MLS action, Montreal Impact defender Nelson Rivas earned a straight red card after laying out Philadelphia Union striker Antoine Hoppenot with a vicious headbutt.
It happened in the 68th minute after Hoppenot tossed Rivas to the ground after the players got tangled up chasing a loose ball.
Unfortunately for the Union, they did not get a one-man advantage out of the situation as forward Jack McInerney earned himself a red card when he came in to defend his teammate and shoved Rivas down to the ground.
A multi-game suspension from the MLS will likely follow for Rivas' imitation of Zinedine Zidane, and deservedly so.
