Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez's perfect game against the Tampa Bay Rays was shown on the video scoreboard of Pringles Park in Jackson, Tennessee, as the Mariners double-A minor league affiliate Jackson Generals watched the final pitches during their pre-game batting practice Wednesday afternoon.
The Jackson Generals gathered together in the outfield to watch the final pitch and celebrated along with the Mariners as Hernandez closed out a 1-0 victory with the 23rd perfect game in major league history. Making the celebration more meaningful for the Generals is the family connection, as Felix's brother Moises is a pitcher for the Generals.
