Saturday's Washington Nationals game against the St. Louis Cardinals was delayed briefly after a sign advertising Dierks Bentley fell down after being hit by a foul ball.
It happened in the top of the third as Cardinals batter Jon Jay hit a pitch foul and hit the sign just right to knock it down. Another pitch was made before time was called, so that the grounds crew could attempt to put the sign back up, but when they were unable to, they simply took the sign away.
On the one hand, the FOX broadcasters put it best by saying this was probably good publicity for Dierks Bentley. On the other hand, the Nationals need to take a closer look on making their advertising signs more secure.
