New York Yankees third baseman Eric Chavez competed with a fan to make a tough catch on a foul popup during Wednesday night's ALDS Game 3 against the Baltimore Orioles.
It happened in the top of the seventh inning as Orioles batter Manny Machado hit a foul popup on the third base side which reached the edge of the stands. The fan in the front row tried to catch the ball with his bare hands, but Chavez outreached him with his glove and made the catch.
The fan should be thanking Chavez for preventing him from becoming the next Steve Bartman.
